ENTREZ DANS LA DANSE No 4 Tangos Typiques
Sheet-book melody + figuring The tango started out in life some time between 1870 and 1880, and it is certain that without the bandoneon, the tango would never have become what it is today. This instrument was invented in 1860 by a German, Heinrich Band. Less than 10 years later, German sailors showed the instrument to Argentineans while their ships were in the port of Buenos Aires. It was generally accepted as part of the tango bands around 1880. In this album there are, amongst others:

ENTREZ DANS LA DANSE No 7 Madison
Sheet-book melody + figuring The Madison, which was really popular in the Sixties, was one of the solo dances which caught on at that time, like the Twist, the Hully Gully and others. It started in Philadelphia in 1960. In 1961 it featured in the film West Side Story in the long dance sequence. It came to France in 1962 and rapidly became a “must” for dances and parties; in this album, as in all those in this series, you will find a big choice of tunes by composers who are all well established, written out on a score with the chord figuring. |

ENTREZ DANS LA DANSE No 11 Sécial guinguette
Sheet-book melody + figuring To the XIX ème century one came to dance in these cabarets with the doors of Paris. The hammers, square and mazurkas left the place gradually with the waltz haversack, the java, and others dances more exotic like the tango, the rumba or the paso-doble. Today if little of them remained, one attends a true revival for these convivial places who make us rediscover all the richness of this cultural inheritance. |
